7 months have almost passed since I’ve written here. Long time. Really long. To compensate I’m gonna post everyday for the next 7 days!! Anyway right now, I’m too excited to write anything since ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ releases tomorrow!! Hell Yeah!! I’ve tried to stay away from the internet as much as I can to avoid any spoilers. So far so good. I hope it lives up to its expectations. Anyway here is one of my favorite to enjoy the rainy mood (At least in my country :P). See ya tomorrow!!
Had a blast in Mumbai with my friend there!! The ten hour drive from my city to there was totally worth it. Plus open highways, old bridges and clear skies provide plenty opportunities to capture some beautiful scenes. One of my favorites was the 1.2 km long ‘Golden Bridge’. I bet you would never have seen such a narrow bridge! All I wanted to do was to get out of he car and take a couple of shots from some different angles. But all I got to do was barely take out my hand from the window to get a normal shot. Still I got one great pic and 80 useless ones 😛 Anyway here they are!!
It is only by some miracle that I wake up at 6 am. I think it was the cold that woke me up. At last Winter has started!! The orange haze near the horizon was a really beautiful view. So that required a photo!! On another topic, I’m trying to learn Adobe Photoshop, so can anyone suggest some good books or online lessons? Anyway, here is the pic!!
Its been a while since I visited this site. My PC had crashed and took all my 500 photos with it 😦 So I’m pretty much starting from the scratch!! So i went to this place called Thol lake, where many species of birds are seen in winter. Being no bird watcher I went there to take photos of a beautiful sunrise. Well, things never go as planned, do they? When we reached there I could see nothing but hundreds of birds. The idea of a sunrise crashed just like my PC and I started clicking away in every direction!! I realized I had forgotten to charge my camera not until it was actually day. Anyway having very little battery I clicked some photos and returned home disappointed but amazed at the number of different birds that lake holds! I saw the photos and all I got were useless photos of birds (I don’t the patience of a wildlife photographer so all my pics were either blurred or just empty sky) And the good scenes that deserved to be captured properly were all taken in a hurry since the battery was low 😦 I’ve made plans to go there again and take proper photos this time. Well anyway the settings were not ideal for the true beauty of the scene to be realized so I’ve tweaked with them a little using Picasa and next time I promise better photos. I must warn you though I’ve tried to be a little artistic with them!! 😛 Here they are…I have taken the liberty to edit them but only to an extent. All I have done is increased shadows or used warmify or increased highlights…
Today I went to a place called ‘Vintage Villa’ where some of the rare vintage cars are showcased. The entire collection of more than 100 cars belongs to a single guy!! (I don’t remember the name). Anyway the collection includes Rolls Royce, Mercedes, Ford, Cadillac, Fiat and many others I don’t remember. Some of them date back to 1920s!! Anyway they took extra charge for taking photos (That is just mean :P), but I was not gonna miss that. So anyway, I took like 150 photos!! I went there with my family and dad’s friends’ families. Had a great time!! So, here are the pics. These are the select few I really liked. The main problem was that they didn’t allow people to get too near to the cars (They had ropes), so I couldn’t get the best photos. Here they are. Hope you like them 🙂
Sometimes black and white photos say more than the other ones. This was one those times. I was at my friends house for a visit when I saw a beautiful set right in front of me. Like it was designed to be photographed. When I took the shots I was definitely wasn’t satisfied (Partly because I was using my cell :P). I took like 10 shots and still not a nice pic. I think the problem was that my phone was not capable enough to shoot such a pic with colors. So I tried black and white and damn!! It worked!! I never really liked black and white before (because they are kinda sad). But then I understood the meaning of a black and white photo lies in its simplicity and the mood it creates. So, as I was returning home, I saw a farm growing something tall (don’t know what) and immediately my mind thought ‘Black and white!!’ and I shot that too in B&W. So here are the pics…Hope you like them !! 🙂
I went to Gangtok in 2009 with my family. We toured Gangtok and Darjeeling. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever been too. The sheer beauty of the place makes you feel at peace. The little houses just add to the beauty. There, everywhere you go there are some scary drops. I saw a school that was constructed on a slope. It was so awesome!! The basketball court was a 15 steps lower than the school! Anyway, one of the highlights of Gangtok is the beautiful flowers. They have like a nursery of flowers (Which has some very weird flowers) but the seeing the flowers in natural light is really beautiful! Here are the pics from my flower collection 😛
